Ordinary Gweilo

Just had one of those mad things where a company calls me and then asks me to confirm how I spell my name.

You called me! Why do I need to confirm anything? And how do I know that you are really who you say you are?

What does it prove? Anyone could spell out my name and provide my ID number.

And what a waste of 5 minutes – calling me, checking my name, reading out a lot of terms and conditions, when it could have been an email.
