A good catch

The Guardian reports that well-educated Japanese women are desperate to meet and marry British men.  Admittedly this intelligence comes from an agency which has a financial interest in arranging such matches, but even so I feel sure that it must be true.

According to Destina Japan, professional women in Japan are increasingly looking overseas for romance because they feel Japanese men do not understand their need to work.  [..] "Japanese women like the fact that British men have a modern attitude to family life as well as a respect for the traditional aspects of the Japanese culture."

British men – best in the world.  I must remind my wife just how lucky she is!

    It’s true that my Japanese female friends also say so. It’s also true that western men in general do respect women more on their work decision and individual thinking. Japanese still do have strong traditional perception in family, like women got to stay home after marriage etc. It’s somehow not civilised at all especially in the modern Japan.

    Since the Guardian’s attempt to influence voters in Clarke County to vote for Kerry was probably responsible for activating many extra Bush voters in Ohio, I think that one might want to look a little deeper…
    There is currently a big fad for “mixed” babies… One of my friends lives in Japan and has had his baby in magazines… heck, even Korean TV game shows are having “mixed” guests or hosts…
    But it is really critical to avoid stereoypes when searching for a spouse… Asian women are not just meek little porcelain dolls that also do housework… they are, in fact, quite intelligent, direct, and occasionally demanding…
    Research is the key… Oh, and avoid thinking with the “wrong brain”…

    I think there are a few bloggers out there doing significant resource on this subject, but I fear you may be right that they are using the “wrong brain” for this task!
    I have written about this subject previously (Is she really going out with him for example) so I won’t repeat myself here.
